Health promotion: a professional community for social justice.

Abstract

to strive for social justice (synergy). Should the community become professionalised, or the professions radicalised, some of the vital elements would be lost. This position argues against the complete professionalisation of health promotion, and also against the turning of contributing professions into entities that are mainly concerned with health promotion. The community stands for social justice; the professions for the delivery of competent professional care.
