Abstract
The management of benign prostatic hyperplasia has undergone a rapid evolution over the past decade from a surgical emphasis to a medical emphasis. Great strides in the development of alpha-adrenergic blockers, 5 alpha-reductase inhibitors and a variety of phytotherapeutics have fueled this evolution.
