Abstract

Managed care systems can control costs. However, not all managed care systems are constructed alike. In fact, a wide divergence may exist between one system and another. Because they are "systems," as they become looser, they have a tendency to also become weaker. For short- and long-term results, a purchaser of a system is well advised to look at the quality of the management of the managed care system before making a selection.
