Abstract

In Florida, programs to help chronic pulmonary disease patients cope better with their illness are now operating in 20 areas. Catalysts for the programs are the Florida Lung Association and local affiliates. The basic resource for this patient education effort is the Staff Manual for Teaching Patients about COPD, developed by the ALA and the American Hospital Association.
