Reducing hospitalization for threatened preterm labor: A new laboratory test for preterm labor helps determine which women are unlikely to deliver soon, avoiding unnecessary hospital stays. A clinical study conducted at a New Mexico hospital shows the test saved $486,000 in a 12-month period.
