Abstract

The results of two recent surveys show that enthusiasm and support for reengineering information systems is slow to catch on among information professionals and top healthcare management. Caution--and even outright pessimism--remain over the speed with which a truly computer-based patient record will be implemented. Interest in open-systems solutions, however, is up sharply.
