Abstract
The inherited deficiency of glucocerebrosidase results in a group of sphingolipid storage disorders referred to collectively as Gaucher disease. Study of the biochemistry and cell biology of glucocerebrosidase has made possible an effective enzyme replacement therapy for the disease.
