Two major types of polyunsaturated fatty acids prominent in marine fish oils are eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DCHA). These fish oils limit leukotriene synthesis and biological activities by substituting substrate fatty acids as alternatives to arachidonic acid.
