Abstract
1.
1. Tolerance development to phencyclidine (PCP) was assessed in male ICR mice using motor coordination ability as an indicator.
2.
2. The ED50 of PCP for initiating motor incoordination was 13.8 mg/kg and the LD50 of PCP was estimated to be 78 mg/kg.
3.
3. The daily administration of PCP, ranging from 10 to 40 mg/kg, i.p., caused a gradual reduction of the duration of motor incoordination.
4.
4. The degree of tolerance development was observed to be in a dose-dependent fashion.
