The value of direct sagittal computed tomography using the Philips Tomoscan 300

Abstract

Direct Sagittal Scanning on a high resolution scanner has many added advantages over sagittal reconstruction by means of the rearrangement of axial data. Two different techniques of Direct Sagittal Scanning are presented. The design of the Philips Tomoscan 300 is such that it has a tilting gantry with no additional support at the back of the gantry. A few valuable aspects are described by means of examples.
