Becoming a father requires more than shared genes. In this article, one father takes a first‐person, retrospective look at his transition into fatherhood. From a husband cooperating with his wife's desires for prebirth preparation, to Lamaze, to delivery room, and beyond, this husband marks his progress in becoming a father.
