During the decline in proliferation, foci of small cells appeared amid a background of larger senescent-appearing cells. The cultures then regained proliferative activity and have been maintained in our laboratory for more than 22 months. Abstract

We report here the spontaneous transformation of a normal diploid bovine fetal aortic endothelial cell line.
