A Basis for the Nursing Management of Feeding the Premature Infant

Abstract

A basis for understanding nutritional management for the healthy premature infant is presented. Physiology of the developing gastrointestinal system is discussed as well as nutritional requirements and suggestions for the nurse to solve common problems associated with feeding the premature infant.
