Abstract

Advancements in diagnostic and surgical technology in recent decades have greatly enhanced the ability for patients with central nervous system disorders to live longer, more meaningful lives. The CT guided stereotactic system has proven to be extremely useful in the localization and biopsy and/or total removal of brain lesions of small size. Incorporation of this system with other technologic advancements such as the CO2 laser, phototherapy and NMR may be very promising in early detection and treatment of CNS tumors.
