Orientation of the aerospace nurse to occupational health.

Abstract

A DVAN CEM EN T IN THE MISSILE and manned space flight program has brought into focus the need for occupational health nurses within the framework of the Air Force's Preventive Medicine Program. This was made clear to me while spending five weeks at the Cape Kennedy Air Force Station Dispensary during my year's residency in the Aerospace Nursing Course. The medical facility , operated by Pan American World Airways, prime contractor for the Air Force Eastern Test Range, provides emergency treatment and routine physical examinations for the thousands of aerospace contractor personnel at the Cape.
