Abstract

The taste function has been followed by subjective and objective tests in a material operated upon for otosclerosis. From the result of this investigation the following may be pointed out: It is necessary to use objective test methods to get reliable information about the taste function. It may be possible to decrease the number of cases in which the chorda tympani is sectioned at theoperation for otosclerosis.
