Abstract

Last week's conference of the InUnity Alliance featured the New York Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) as well as the Office of Mental Health (OMH) in reporting on victories — a 44% reduction in overdose deaths — and the challenges of health services of New York. Co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder (SUD), an increase in stimulant-related overdose deaths, online sports betting, upcoming Medicaid work requirements, and lack of an adequate workforce were among the discussed challenges.
