Abstract
The massive growth in the electric vehicle market necessitates the need of constructing optimal charging station. The principal focus of the paper is modelling of fast-charging station integrating solar and wind energy to reduce the impacts on grid, to improve the profit on electric vehicle charging station and solution to range anxiety. The study has been carried out for the latitude 10.9362˚ North and longitude 76.7441˚East where solar and wind energy sources are plentiful. The entire simulation regarding Electric vehicle charging station operation is performed using Monte Carlo method in Matlab programming. The modelling parameters such as energy required to charge the Electric vehicle, wind and solar energy production are done through probability distributions. The results indicate that net present value evaluated for 20 years in the modelling of electric vehicle fast charging station integrating renewable energy is more compared with charging station incorporating only grid power. Also the cash outgoing in the Electric vehicle charging station modelling while incorporating only grid power is very high when compared with using both grid and renewable energy in the charging station. When the cash outgoing is more, the energy taken from the grid is more and there by less profit is obtained. The modelling of charging station utilizing wind and solar power along with grid power results in more profit.
