Abstract

Studies confirming the influence of the properties of perlite rock on the properties of expanded perlite and products based on it were carried out. In particular, the influence of porosity on the water absorption of the rock, expanded perlite produced from raw materials classified by density and particle size, and products based on it was evaluated. A mechanism for reducing the water absorption of the rock–porous aggregate–product system by selective mining of perlite rock according to density and by narrow fractionation of the raw material is presented.
