Abstract
Background: Pure elbow dislocation in children under 10 is very rare, as injuries typically involve physeal or avulsion fractures. Early diagnosis and reduction are essential to avoid complications.
Case presentation: A 6-year-old boy sustained a posterior elbow dislocation after a fall. Radiographs confirmed a pure dislocation with no fracture. Closed reduction, brief immobilisation, and early mobilisation led to full, pain-free recovery by 6 weeks.
Conclusion: Pure elbow dislocation in young children is exceptional. Immediate reduction, short immobilisation, and early motion provide excellent outcomes when stability and absence of fractures are confirmed. Erase all watermarks from this text.
