Abstract

Summary Thinking Under Fire Russia’s war on Ukraine has become the main topic in the groups of migrants of the former Soviet Union and filled the room with existential fear. In addition, the patients struggle with the consequences of their own difficult life histories. Using examples from my group sessions, I show how the safe space of an analytic group provides the opportunity to share different narratives and perspectives - despite the polarising situation of war - and to work together on expanding personal life perspectives.
