Abstract
Since the last century, the toy has been one of the topics of artistic practices and motivates a line of speculation and analysis of the creative process by virtue of the question about the status of the manufactured object, when it is put in the place of the artistic work. For this reason, an attempt is made to review and update the discursive plot of the toy, made by the artist, exhibited in artistic circuits, in light of the creative process and practice of three Uruguayan artists: Torres García, Musso and Larrosa. The symbolic, affective and aesthetic relationship between art, play and toys suggests a territory to update the emotional and cultural conditions of Latin American societies.
