La chirurgie bariatrique est une option thérapeutique reconnue dans la prise en charge de l’obésité sévère. Son efficacité repose toutefois sur un suivi à long terme rigoureux, impliquant de nombreux professionnels de santé. Le pharmacien d’officine, par sa proximité avec le patient et son expertise du médicament, joue un rôle central dans la sécurisation des traitements, la prévention des carences nutritionnelles et l’éducation thérapeutique. Il doit connaître les enjeux pharmaceutiques liés à la chirurgie bariatrique et les bonnes pratiques de prise en charge au comptoir.

Community pharmacists, through their close relationship with patients and their expertise in medications, play a central role in ensuring treatment safety, preventing nutritional deficiencies, and providing therapeutic education. They must be familiar with the pharmaceutical issues related to bariatric surgery and best practices for patient care at the counter.
