Abstract
Hospitalists frequently present to large groups of people, even though most have never received any formal training on how to teach effectively. We share research, present cases, and teach students and residents, but we do it primarily by emulating our mentors and “learning by doing”. In this article, we present simple techniques drawn from the science of communication and learning that can enhance scholarly and educational presentations to help great clinicians become great educators as well.
