Abstract

Summary:  LY 121019 is a semi‐biosynthetic antifungal antibiotic, chemically characterized as a lipopolypeptide. Its antifungal action probably results form inhibition of the biosynthesis of β‐1,3‐glucan thus causing severe damage to the cell wall of yeasts. 115 clinical isolates of different Candida species have been studied for their sensitivity to LY 121019 in a Sabouraud glucose broth dilution test. The mean MIC values after 24 h incubation at 37°C were:
