Abstract

This paper investigates the barrage jamming signal synthesis problem in spectrally congested scenarios. The purpose is to transmit noise-like jamming signals toward hostile radar/communication receivers while protecting friendly radio frequency (RF) systems. To this end, an optimization problem is formulated based on minimizing the jamming energy leaking toward the friendly RF systems. We also enforce moment constraints on the jamming signals to ensure the Gaussian noise-like properties. An alternating direction method of multipliers is developed to tackle the encountered non-convex optimization problem. Results show that compared with competing algorithms, the barrage jamming signals synthesized by the proposed algorithm exhibit better performance.
