Abstract

The propagation characteristics of dust-acoustic waves (DAWs) and the generation of Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) and time-fractional KdV (TFKdV) solitons are investigated in an unmagnetized collisionless dusty plasma. The plasma system consists of nonthermal hot electrons, nonthermal ions, and negative dust fluid. To do this, the reductive perturbation method is used to derive the KdV equation. To investigate the TFKdV soliton, the KdV equation is converted to the TFKdV equation by using the procedure of El-Wakil et al. [38]. To study the effects of pertinent parameters, the numerical analysis is performed. It is found that the propagation characteristics, such as phase velocity, nonlinearity, and production of KdV as well as TFKdV solitons, are affected by the concerned plasma parameters.

The Brazilian Journal of Physics is a peer-reviewed international journal published by the Brazilian Physical Society (SBF). The journal publishes new and original research results from all areas of physics, obtained in Brazil and from anywhere else in the world. Contents include theoretical, practical and experimental papers as well as high-quality review papers. Submissions should follow the generally accepted structure for journal articles with basic elements: title, abstract, introduction, results, conclusions, and references.
