This study aimed to assess <i>Elaeagnus angustifolia</i> L. fruit extract's potential in shielding rat livers from CCl<sub>4</sub> damage.</p><p><strong>Materials and methods: </strong>30 Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups: normal control (received distilled water), <i>E. angustifolia</i> hydroalcoholic extract control, CCl<sub>4</sub> control, <i>E. angustifolia</i> extract pretreatment (600 mg/kg), and silymarin pretreatment (100 mg/kg). After 14 days of oral administration of extracts, CCl<sub>4</sub> was injected intraperitoneally. The samples were collected 48 hr later.
