Abstract
This article investigates the effects of various network factors and queuing systems on the performance of network control systems (NCSs). Specifically, the performance limitations of systems with white Gaussian noise (WGN) in the forward and feedback channels, as well as with packet loss and queuing systems in the feedback channels was studied. In this investigation, queuing theory was used to analyze the influence of queuing systems on the performance of NCSs when the system capacity is limited. We obtain the performance expression of NCSs by internal and external factorization, partial factorization, and spectrum decomposition methods. The results reveal that the system performance is affected not only by inherent characteristics of the system such as unstable zeros, nonminimum phase (NMP) zeros with their directions, and time delay but also by network factors such as packet loss and WGN. Finally, several simulations were presented to verify the theoretical results.
期刊介绍:
Papers that do not include an element of robust or nonlinear control and estimation theory will not be considered by the journal, and all papers will be expected to include significant novel content. The focus of the journal is on model based control design approaches rather than heuristic or rule based methods. Papers on neural networks will have to be of exceptional novelty to be considered for the journal.
