It takes a long time, and the maintenance operators have a heavy psychological burden, at the same time, there are more human errors. The development of augmented reality (AR) technology has freed the hands of the maintenance personnel. It can provide intuitive guidance and reduce maintenance errors. China Space Station will operate in orbit for a few years, the usage of AR technology for auxiliary maintenance has become a trend. In this article, we introduce the development of AR technology, the research progress of AR maintenance of the aerospace field, and the most important tracking registration technology, its advantages and disadvantages. At the same time, we analyze the actual maintenance objects, maintenance scenario, and the process of the space maintenance tasks, hoping to provide solutions for future AR maintenance.
