This tear typically affects the posterior horn and midbody of the lateral meniscus, often necessitating subtotal meniscectomy. However, long-term follow-up indicates a high incidence of early degenerative changes after such procedures. Recent advancements in arthroscopic techniques provide opportunities to reconstruct the meniscus, restoring its normal morphology and function.
