Abstract

The meniscus is crucial in maintaining appropriate knee joint biomechanics, providing shock absorption, load transmission, and joint stability. Meniscal injuries can lead to articular cartilage degenerative changes, knee instability, early-onset osteoarthritis, and subsequent knee arthroplasty if left untreated. Meniscus allograft transplantation has emerged as a viable option for patients with symptomatic meniscal deficiency that is unamendable to repair. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the currently available evidence on surgical techniques and clinical outcomes following meniscus allograft transplantation.
