Abstract

This essay examines ethical cognizance as a conceptual perspective for experiencing love as a dynamic, relational, and ethically grounded phenomenon. Departing from conventional emotive definitions, the analysis positions love as an intentional praxis of moral engagement. Ethical cognizance, comprising the interrelated dimensions of identity, intentionality, agency, context, and awareness, serves as a theoretical and practical lens for understanding love in action. Drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives from philosophy and relational ethics, the discussion elucidates the transformative potential of ethical cognizance in fostering moral clarity, deepening relational interconnectedness, and enhancing collective flourishing. By advancing a synthesis of theoretical inquiry and applied practice, the essay underscores the capacity of ethical cognizance to engender a more equitable and compassionate society through the deliberate enactment of relational ethics.
