Abstract
Globally, air pollution is the greatest environmental threat to public health. As well as exacerbating climate change, which continues to degrade population health and economic activity, air pollution has direct health effects that disproportionately impact the most disadvantaged. Air pollution widens inequality, with children's respiratory health, development and well-being shouldering a significant burden. Here, we aim not only to highlight the burgeoning issue of air pollution and its far-reaching impacts on child health, but also to empower and equip clinicians, families and children to intervene in tackling air pollution as part of a local and international agenda.
