Abstract

It is discovered that the effect giant enhancement of the intensity of inelastic light scattering and the considerable dependence of the coefficient enhancement on the thickness of a metal (silver) can be observed in metallic films with periodic holes (the size of a square hole is half the period). It is shown that strong oscillations of the coefficient of enhancement are observed when the thickness of a silver film is changed in the range of 5 to 140 nm, and the amplitude of the oscillations can be more than an order of magnitude.
