Heed lessons learned from safety compliance violations

Abstract

Although colleges and universities have had decades of practice complying with the Clery Act and the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, violations continue to occur — resulting in financial and reputational costs. To help institutions avoid those ramifications, a panel of experts at Stetson University's National Conference on Law and Higher Education discussed trends in federal monitoring and enforcement efforts and compliance tips.
