Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a useful tool in endovascular surgery for predicting danger zones in cerebral aneurysms. Moreover, its risk of recurrence is challenging compared with open surgery, especially coil compaction, leading to recanalization and the risk of aneurysm rupture. De novo neck formation in coiled aneurysms has been reported over a long follow-up period. Abnormal hemodynamic stress is associated with the recurrence of treated aneurysms.
