Abstract
Catalytic dehydroaromatization of alkanes has attracted much attention as an alternative and promising route for producing aromatics, and the typical catalysts for this process are zeolites with metal species. This review briefly summarizes the importance of zeolites with different topological structures in the dehydroaromatization of alkanes, exploring the impact of the physicochemical properties of zeolites on their activity. In addition, the roles of various metal species, including noble metals and non-noble metals, in the reaction are simply analyzed. Furthermore, catalytic mechanisms such as monofunctional and bifunctional routes are discussed. Finally, future research trends are proposed for the dehydroaromatization of alkanes over metal/zeolite catalysts, particularly for achieving carbon neutrality.
