Abstract
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) primary repair techniques have gained increasing interest as an alternative to ACL reconstruction because of several advantages, including preservation of proprioception and restoration of tension for the injured ACL remnant. In recent years, surgical approaches for ACL repair have progressed from direct repair to augmentation techniques using internal or external reinforcement. To make the augmented primary repair more effective and economical, we adapted the internal brace augmentation technique to use only 1 semitendinosus autograft without additional grafts or anchors. This article describes our modified, simplified approach for ACL repair.
