Abstract
An analysis of the efficiency of new schemes for integrating turboexpanders into systems for heating gas feedstock mixtures of various light alkanes dehydrogenation processes is performed. Theoretical calculations of the energy consumption of the considered schemes are performed. Thus, in the energy-technology scheme it is necessary to increase the thermal load, while almost all the added thermal energy is converted into electrical energy, which characterizes the proposed schemes as a highly efficient method of producing electricity from the heat generated directly in the petrochemical plant. The combined scheme is optimized and a technical and economic analysis is performed. The compositions of the feedstock flows of the most common industrial processes of dehydrogenation of light alkanes are considered as potential working fluids for the combined power-generation process.
