Abstract
Porous concrete is widely used in drainage engineering, but it is easily affected by freezing injury in cold areas. Low strength and poor frost resistance are the main obstacles to its wide application. In this study, the influence of fiber on frost resistance and durability of porous concrete is deeply discussed, aiming at finding the best fiber admixture to improve its stability and durability in engineering application in cold areas. By preparing ordinary porous concrete and two kinds of porous concrete with different fiber content, and carrying out rapid freeze-thaw cycle tests, combined with the indexes such as mass loss rate, relative dynamic elastic modulus and compressive strength loss rate, the influence of different fiber content on the frost resistance of porous concrete is comprehensively evaluated. The addition of polypropylene fiber (0.05%) can effectively improve the frost resistance of porous concrete and prolong its service life, so it is an ideal material for engineering application in cold areas. The research results provide an important reference for subsequent projects and help to promote the wide application of porous concrete in cold areas.
