Abstract
The University of Texas at San Antonio recruited a Taiwanese student for a fully funded position as a Ph.D. student. He accepted the offer and obtained an F-1 visa that restricted his employment to university opportunities. During his time in the program, the Ph.D. student was called to testify in Title IX and Title VII investigations involving his faculty advisor. According to the Ph.D. student, university administrators pressured him to provide false testimony linking his advisor to misconduct. When he refused, he allegedly faced retaliation from the university.
