Abstract

The structure of various systems for the separation of tar, water, and sludge in the condensation department is analyzed, along with the flow patterns in the equipment. The characteristics of mechanized clarifiers are presented. On the basis of the Reynolds number, the best system for removing ammoniacal water from tar by settling in the condensation department of byproduct capture shops is determined. Adjustments to the system dimensions to improve settling conditions are proposed.
