Varying reaction temperature (120–150 °C) and time (24–48 h), the formation of a binuclear cluster (pzH<sub>2</sub>)<sub>2</sub>[<em>anti</em>-Mo<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>S<sub>2</sub>(pzH)<sub>2</sub>(C<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>], dimer [{Mo<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>S<sub>2</sub>(pzH)<sub>3</sub>}<sub>2</sub>(C<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>], dimer [{Mo<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2.765</sub>S<sub>1.235</sub>(pzH)<sub>3</sub>}<sub>2</sub>(C<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>] and complex compound [Mo<sub>8</sub>S<sub>6</sub>O<sub>12</sub>(pzH)<sub>6</sub>(pz)<sub>6</sub>] is observed. The last compounds in this series are formed simultaneously with the decomposition of the cluster complex. Abstract
Extending the family of oxothiomolybdates, the interaction of (pzH2)2[Mo2O2S2(H2O)2(C2O4)2] with pyrazole (pzH) at different reaction conditions in a sealed glass ampoules was studied. The inclusion of single-crystal X-ray structural data is strongly encouraged, but papers reporting only the X-ray structure determination of a single compound will usually not be considered. Papers on solid-state or materials chemistry will be expected to have a significant molecular chemistry component (such as the synthesis and characterization of the molecular precursors and/or a systematic study of the use of different precursors or reaction conditions) or demonstrate a cutting-edge application (for example inorganic materials for energy applications). Papers dealing only with stability constants are not considered.
