Abstract
We have studied the properties of a divinylbenzene-matrix carboxylic ion exchanger with respect to calcium and lanthanum(III) ions. Tokem-250 cation exchanger-based TiO2–SiO2–P2O5/CaO and TiO2–SiO2–P2O5/La2O3 composites have been prepared by a sol–gel process, and we have identified the key features of the phase formation process involved and the physicochemical properties of the synthesized materials. The results demonstrate that a calcium phosphate layer can be formed on the surface of the TiO2–SiO2–P2O5/CaO and TiO2–SiO2–P2O5/La2O3 materials in simulated body fluid.

Inorganic Materials is a journal that publishes reviews and original articles devoted to chemistry, physics, and applications of various inorganic materials including high-purity substances and materials. The journal discusses phase equilibria, including P–T–X diagrams, and the fundamentals of inorganic materials science, which determines preparatory conditions for compounds of various compositions with specified deviations from stoichiometry. Inorganic Materials is a multidisciplinary journal covering all classes of inorganic materials. The journal welcomes manuscripts from all countries in the English or Russian language.
