The concept of the Immersive Necessity Level was developed with the aim of addressing all the informational gaps required by immersive ecosystems, which are not currently met by the Informational Necessity Level defined by ISO 7817-1. Through three simulations, the study investigates how data specificity and informational granularity influence users’ immersive experiences. The findings highlight the importance of defining clear prerequisites and requirements when outlining an informational framework using immersive technologies in conjunction with BIM methodology. This study aims to bridge this gap by proposing a structured framework to define the levels of immersive necessity in BIM projects.
