Abstract
Radical cystectomy with ileal conduit diversion is commonly performed for muscle-invasive bladder cancer and some benign conditions. Although effective, this procedure carries significant postoperative morbidity due to complications from urinary and intestinal anastomoses. This case report details a rare complication of massive bowel evisceration occurring on postoperative Day 2 in a patient who underwent cystectomy with Bricker diversion for muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma.
