Abstract
(2R,5R,6S,7S,9E)-2-{[tert-Butyl(dimethyl)silyl]oxy}-3,3,5,7-tetramethyl-4-oxo-6-[(triethylsilyl)oxy]undec-9-enoic acid has been synthesized as the C1–C9 block necessary for the subsequent incorporation into the structure of a desired epothilone D analogue.
