Abstract
In the recent years, automotive industry is undergoing through a transformation phase with the successful integration of advanced technologies, blockchain technology emerges as one of the evolutionary technologies for improving transparency, traceability, and data integrity within supply chain processes. In this context, this study aims to present a mixed-methodology approach that combines a bibliometric analysis technique and a systematic literature review (SLR) on the adoption of blockchain technology in the automotive supply chain. Using systematic literature review of existing studies, the study provides a comprehensive analysis of the current landscape of blockchain adoption in the automotive sector and synthesize results using context-intervention-mechanism-outcome (CIMO) framework. Throughout the research process, bibliometric analysis was carried out to support and confirm the research findings additionally. This approach was applied steadily, which resulted in specialized and highly consistent outcomes. The findings also identify key themes, challenges, and benefits associated with blockchain implementation, shedding light on its potential to revolutionize traditional automotive supply chain practices. Additionally, the paper highlights gaps in the current literature, providing scope for future research following the framework of theory-context-method (TCM). This synthesis of knowledge helps to explore the implications of blockchain technology in the automotive supply chain in-depth. Also, the study serves as a foundation for the policymakers, practitioners, and researchers navigating the evolving intersection of blockchain and the automotive industry.

Technology in Society is a global journal dedicated to fostering discourse at the crossroads of technological change and the social, economic, business, and philosophical transformation of our world. The journal aims to provide scholarly contributions that empower decision-makers to thoughtfully and intentionally navigate the decisions shaping this dynamic landscape. A common thread across these fields is the role of technology in society, influencing economic, political, and cultural dynamics. Scholarly work in Technology in Society delves into the social forces shaping technological decisions and the societal choices regarding technology use. This encompasses scholarly and theoretical approaches (history and philosophy of science and technology, technology forecasting, economic growth, and policy, ethics), applied approaches (business innovation, technology management, legal and engineering), and developmental perspectives (technology transfer, technology assessment, and economic development). Detailed information about the journal's aims and scope on specific topics can be found in Technology in Society Briefings, accessible via our Special Issues and Article Collections.
