Abstract

The method of numerical beamforming for processing space-time data obtained in supercomputer simulation of aeroacoustics problems is used to localize a distributed acoustic source formed by the interaction of turbulent flow and aircraft or its elements in flight mode and to determine its amplitude-frequency characteristics. Mathematically, the proposed method is based on solving the inverse problem of determining the right-hand side in the Helmholtz equation for sources of monopole and dipole types. Compared to its analogue intended to analyze experimental measurements, the new method has significant advantages and allows a generalization to correlated sources. The capabilities of the method are demonstrated by solving the problem of identifying an acoustic source generated by a straight aircraft wing with deployed high-lift devices in landing mode.

期刊介绍: Doklady Mathematics is a journal of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It contains English translations of papers published in Doklady Akademii Nauk (Proceedings of the Russian Academy of Sciences), which was founded in 1933 and is published 36 times a year. Doklady Mathematics includes the materials from the following areas: mathematics, mathematical physics, computer science, control theory, and computers. It publishes brief scientific reports on previously unpublished significant new research in mathematics and its applications. The main contributors to the journal are Members of the RAS, Corresponding Members of the RAS, and scientists from the former Soviet Union and other foreign countries. Among the contributors are the outstanding Russian mathematicians.
